who we are

We are a group of thirty–plus members working to build an animal shelter in San Pat county. All our members are volunteers. Five years ago we became a 501(c)3 non–profit organization. All money we raise goes toward building an animal shelter because we do not currently have one in San Patricio County.

Our Goals and Objectives

The long–term goal of SPCA San Pat County is to build and maintain an animal shelter that would serve the needs of San Patricio County. It will serve the community by providing a facility where people can go to adopt a homeless pet; where animals can be housed in a humane manner while awaiting a loving home. While we work on the long–term goal of building an animal shelter, we will be working hard to educate the public about the need to spay or neuter their pets. Our objectives are summarized below:

Provide humane care and treatment for all animals needing protection in the area served by the corporation
Discourage cruelty to animals of all types
Influence public opinion with respect to care, treatment and welfare
Promote spay/neuter programs as a method of animal population control
Seek suitable homes for animals without owners
Provide euthanasia when necessary

In its care and disposition of animals, the SPCA San Pat County shall maintain minimum, or exceed, standards prescribed by the State of Texas.
